2019 Conference

2019 IPTN Conference 'Celebrating Diversity'

23 Apr 2017

Dear Playbackers,

The next IPTN conference will be 2019 in south India.

The local team has chosen for the theme ‘Celebrating Diversity’ and their reasoning is:

"Worldwide, diversity is being threatened with narrow parochial view-points gaining ground. A wave of nationalism is surging through different nations. Values of multiculturalism and diversity are under threat. The me-first or my community-first or country-first approach runs counter to the Playback narrative of an inclusive, empathic and a ‘we’ world. Playbackers worldwide must take a stand that supports inclusivity, compassion and diversity. The Conference theme can be a great step in that direction.
India, with its own set of challenges, is still a fantastic example of diversity. With 6 major religions practiced alongside numerous other faiths, it also lists 22 official languages that provide for a huge cross-section of population living peacefully most of the times.
...
With this Conference we just don’t want to acknowledge diversity, but celebrate it in all its varied hues."

Thanks to the local team who have committed themselves to make this wonderful journey! The exact date is will be announced in due time.

Looking forward to meet you all there!
